If you're like me, you don't like reading long boring articles about the financial world, but you do like cartoons and are still searching for answers as to why all your stocks are firmly planted in the crapper. Have a look-see at the following presentation on Google Docs, which breaks down the mortgage crisis into simple dialog and pretty stick figure drawings. Because knowledge is power!

For the wordy folk out there [like my wife], the New York Times also has a nice article about our current situation and how we got there. Be warned though, the lack of cartoons or interesting pictures of any sort is difficult to digest.

The Dark Knight ARG

Late last year, through my endless internet delving, I came across a very interesting website: whysoserious.com. I had heard of ARG's (Alternate Reality Games) before but was quite excited to finally be able to participate in one. Sadly, I did not have a counterpart on the ground at Comicon nor did I have the Batman expertise necessary to answer all the questions. Fortunately, the digg community is a bunch of cheaters and I was able to at least advance through the screens and find out what happened at the end. Anyways, this article provides a great breakdown of what the Dark Knight ARG was about and how it has been one of the best executed marketing schemes in history. Can't wait to see the movie!

Subnormality is one of the multitude of web comics that have spawned from the hellish bowels of the internets. Here's a few expcerpts. Honestly though, the majority of web comics out there kick the crap out of their printed brethren. On a side note, Avgar Ninja sends special love to garfield minus garfield. Why is there no Garfield? Because ninja got tired of his pedantic banter. Fed tasty cat to poor asian villagers who made all your clothes. Therefore, be thankful that he is gone, and rejoice in your capitalist materialism.

The Creation and Operation of the Federal Reserve

A 45 min video regarding the Federal Reserve. A juicy conspiracy, if nothing else. I don't know who many of these guys are, but Milton Friedman [shown at 22:04 in the video] is one smart ninja. If you have the time to learn, read his 1962 book Capitalism and Freedom .
